The Expanse server is subject to the Community Rules
1.) Do not be an asshole; racism, bigotry, harassment, personal attacks, religion, politics, exploits, NSFW, advertising, explicit language, impersonating other players/factions/staff, or pinging/DMing staff will not be tolerated. No alt accounts are permitted, in game or in Discord. This server is run by adults who volunteer their time, we will not tolerate bullshit. In addition, all communication in public channels must be in English for ease of moderation.
2.) Player action (Clang, massive Builds, heavy scripting, exploits, etc.…) that negatively affects the server will be reviewed by staff, you will be instructed on how to remedy the issue and given a reasonable timeline to do so. Non-compliance will result in the removal of offending grids without compensation. Learn more about performance considerations and gameplay restrictions here
3.) Building on any of the restricted planets is PROHIBITED. This is to ensure that, for lore and other obvious reasons, Belters aren't building where they shouldn’t be. Any and all players that attempt to circumvent the mechanics we set in place will be subject to warnings, bans, etc. by the Draconis staff. Atmospheric flight on these planets is also PROHIBITED. This rule is mechanically enforced. Ships entering the atmosphere of a restricted planet will be destroyed. All grids lost due to those circumstances will be lost permanently
4.) Combat zones will be No Compensation Zones. This means that any and all grids within a combat zone will be subject to the No Replacement rule and no staff shall replace/return any grids that have taken damage/seen combat of any circumstance within these zones. PvP of any sort OUTSIDE of these combat zones also falls under the No Replacement rule. (Server issues may overide this upon staff discrection)
5.) As a safety protocol for any “Accidental grid loss” we have instituted what we happily call the “Whoopsie Protocol”. This means that every 30 days you can get a free replacement for a grid lost by accident (i.e., crashed, clang, mining, drove it through a brick wall, flushed down the toilet, eaten by Yahm, etc.). Draconis staff will be very lenient with this protocol but will still not replace any grids lost to PvP.
6.) Do not directly message or ping members of the staff (This rule does not include Community Liaisons). Go to #🎫sigma-support and open a ticket by following the instructions in that channel. This will create a new temporary channel for you to speak privately and directly with staff. However, if you have a concern and need to contact a member of staff privately feel free to contact the community liaisons.
7.) Setting any of your functional blocks to "share with all" during a combat scenario is considered an exploit of weaponcore targeting. Any use of this during any combat situation PvP or PvE will result in a ban.
Limited use of "share with all" is allowed for non-combat reasons such as a shared refueling station, however, the following rules must be followed.
- No grid may have all functional blocks set to "share with all", there must be some functional blocks that do not use that setting.
- Beacons and weapons may not be set to "share with all" for any reason
- "Share with all" must be disabled for all blocks on a grid when it is intentionally being taken into combat.
8.) All blocks must be owned by an active player at all times and must abide by our Blocklimits found below . In addition our auto cleanup will delete any grids that meet any the following conditions:
- Blocks on the grid owned by "Nobody"
- Grids with "Grid" in the name. (Includes anything with letters G-r-i-d in that sequence)
- No Beacon Block placed on the grid (unfinished/1 computer is enough)
- Grids less than 25 blocks
9.) Grids are limited to having Epstein drives in only one direction. Do not try to get around this restriction. Do not use subgrids to get around the thermal beacon mechanics.
10.) Kinetic player-made weapons fired at or near voxels must contain sufficient warheads to destroy the entire projectile. Grids crashing into voxels cause a lot of server strain and issues.
- Players are limited to 6 ship tools per type (drills, welders, grinders) total personal ownership
- Players are limited to 10 refineries total personal ownership - Players are limited to 10 assemblers total personal ownership
- Players are limited to 3 Packagers total personal ownership
- Players are limited to 10 H2/O2 generators total personal ownership
- Grids are limited to 12 ship tools total (drills, welders, grinders)
- Grids vs Personal ship tool ownership is intended to encourage team play (a 12 drill ship, 12 welder printer, etc)
- Grids are limited to 1 extractor per
- Grids are limited to 30 hydrogen tanks per
- Grids are limited to 4 Gravity Generators per
- Grids are limited to 30 production blocks per (assemblers, refineries, h2/02 gens, survival kits, packagers)
- Grids (and attached subgrids) are limited to 100 total functional blocks of each type. I.E 100 total thrusters (any combination of RCS. Chems, Epstein drives, atmospheric), 100 Gyros, 30 hydro tanks (any combination of large/small) etc.
Players may not "ransom" or "hold" the limited blocks of another player against their will. A player may have on their grid: blocks owned by themselves and blocks owned by their faction members. You may never hold a limited block under another player's ownership against their will. It must be hacked, destroyed, or otherwise transferred to legal ownership.
Current Trade Instances and PvE bubbles (while these may change, the rules for them are the same - do not try and lawyer this!):
1) DX6 (Ring Space, Medina Station, and Gate PvE zone transfer points)
2) 20km bubbles around Pallas, Vesta, Tycho, and Ganymede
There are some special rules for our PvE trade zones. The first thing you will notice is that none of your weapons work here; this is a forced no fire zone. However, outside of the stations safe zone bubble, collision damage and maglocks will still function. Using this to engage in PvP in these areas is considered prohibited behavior, and you will be dealt with accordingly by staff. Inside the safe zone, drilling, welding, grinding, maglocks and collisions are disabled and not permitted. Generally, all of the same rules apply in ALL trade instances.
There is however a caveat to the above non PvP rules, these zones are not parking lots, and you are not safe here just because of these rules.
Please note the following:
- Station connectors will automatically disconnect after a short period.
- Ships left unattended for 30 minutes, are considered in breach of parking rules and may now be claimed as legitimate salvage
Parking, maglocking, or connecting in any way shape or form to a station and going AFK for more than 30 minutes can result in the grid being deleted and non- recoverable.
- Placing grids within a stations interior or safezone with the aim to leave them there long term (or more then the allotted 30mins) is not allowed- grids found in violation of this rule will face immediate removal.
- These rules are not to be used to base inside the trade zones, or otherwise exploited for PvP.
The goal of these rules is to help prevent station docks from getting blocked by abandoned/AFK ships, it is not to be abused to acquire “free" ships.
- Not following salvage rules as outlined, maglocking, grinding, or otherwise PvPing a grid, is not allowed in any trade instance when the owner is online and active. Doing so will result in a temp ban from the server of up to 1 day with scaling depending on the number of offenses committed.
- If attempting to stow away on a grid, and the owner discovers the stowaway, whether it be a grid or suit, the stowaway must leave if asked to.
- However, you may initiate legitimate salvage if the owner is inactive (even if they are online) by following the steps below:
- Contact the grid owner to get their attention using /w "player name" to whisper to them. Include the words "salvage claim" in your message(s) to the owner.
- If the owner is unknown or not online, post a public message in global game chat with the name of the ship saying you are placing a 30 minute salvage claim on it.
- If the grid owner does not reply after 30 minutes and continues to show no activity during that time you are free to maglock and move them out of instance for salvage.
- Discord message does not count as being active if the player is not near the grid. They need to (re)spawn on the grid and continue to buy/sell or move it out of the safe zone if trading has completed.
- If, while you have their ship maglocked, the owner comes back and asks you to stop before you leave the trade instance, you must release their ship back to them.
- You are not permitted to grind/weld blocks onto the ship until you have left the trade instance. No PvP can occur while inside the trade zone area.
- To become encamped on KOTH, place a grid in the KOTH zone within 6km of the Station on the surface. This grid must be a powered station over 120 blocks that follows all standard grid rules to avoid cleanup.
- Drilling is prohibited inside the KOTH zone. Any ship drills will be automatically removed from grids upon entering the zone. There is no mechanical enforcement against hand drilling, but any actions taken to embed players or grids beneath voxels is prohibited.
- Kinetic player-made weapons fired at or near voxels must contain sufficient warheads to destroy the entire projectile.
- Player stations may not intersect with or be built inside the central safe zone. Any ships left within the safe zone will be removed by admins. For the purpose of this rule, being “within the safe zone” is defined as bounding box intersection. This is because safezones consider any grid with a bounding box even partially inside the zone to be “inside” the safe zone.
- Player are limited to 5 Static Drills total player ownership
- The “Ilus Trade Zone” PvE zone extends 85km from the center of the planet which stops drilling, all damage and stops landing gears from hostile factions. If you encounter any issues please let us know via ticket.
- Salvage rules do not apply - you may not interfere with other players' grids in any way.
- Circumventing PvE zone protections is not allowed. Doing so will result in a temp ban from the server of up to 1 day with scaling depending on the number of offences committed. Examples are, but not limited to:
- Building within range of another player/faction for the express purpose of hampering their ability to build
- Building within range of another player/faction for the express purpose of denying access to the player/faction's build
- Damaging another player/faction's grid when otherwise unable to do so (Constitutes exploiting)
- Stealing another player/faction's grid when otherwise unable to do so (Constitutes exploiting; this includes bumping ships out of safezones, etc.)
- Even though Quantum hangar allows for hangaring when enemies are not within 2.5km of your grid players must still follow the normal combat hangaring rule of 25km. If an enemy is within 25km of your grid in the PvP part of Ilus you should not hangar your grid. If you do your grid may be subject to deletion or transfer to the attacking player depending on severity of combat hangar.
Rule of Thumb - Do not build within 1.5km of another player/faction's grid unless explicitly told otherwise by the grid owner/faction
- A player is not allowed to pop in and out of the PvE zone in order to mitigate damage done by grids outside of the zone while dealing damage to grids outside the zone.
- A player is not allowed to use PMWs to deal damage to players outside of the zone
- A player may not build a station inside the Ring Gate PvE zones - this will result in deletion of the grid with no warning and a punishment as outlined below
Breaking these rules is paramount to exploiting a plugin and is a bannable offence depending on the severity.
