It manages the player’s essential needs — Food, Water, and Sleep — and ties them directly to health, stamina, and overall performance.
This System forces players to pay attention to their environment and bodies.
If your suit doesn’t warn you, your body will.
It rewards discipline, planning, and resource management while punishing excess and neglect.

The Life Support HUD now integrates Health, Sleep, Water, and Food directly, with Radiation appearing only when active exposure is detected.
This system replaces traditional progress bars with dynamic visual and on-screen warnings designed for immersion and quick readability.
Dual-ring nutrition gauge (bottom-right): Outer ring = Water, Inner ring = Food.
Sleep gauge (top-right): tracks fatigue and rest levels.
Health: represented by a medical cross and circular meter.
Radiation: appears only when active exposure is detected — the icon glows yellow/orange/red and fades out once you are safe.
Icons shift yellow → orange → red as conditions worsen.
When low or critical, icons for Food, Water, or Sleep will project onto the center of your screen (HUD overlay) as flashing red warnings, ensuring visibility even in combat or cockpit view.
At critical levels, your screen pulses red, and icons flicker to simulate distress.
Opening your helmet hides the entire HUD, simulating environmental vulnerability.

The Life Support interface combines automatic HUD feedback with manual stat control tools. Players can rely on quick visuals for awareness or open detailed menus for precise readings.
Hold N → Opens the Stat Monitor Popup, showing exact numeric values for Food, Water, Sleep, Health, Radiation, and Buffs in real time by moving you mouse over top of each stat.
Press Shift + B → Displays all active Buffs and Debuffs, including their remaining duration and effects.
🧭 You’ll see danger long before you can measure it. The HUD warns — the Stat Monitor just confirms you’re dying.
Proper management of your Life Support System provides buffs, while neglect leads to debuffs:

Radiation is an integral part of the Life Support System, representing environmental exposure and contamination.
It interacts directly with your biological stats and suit protection systems.
Uranium ingots and reactors emit harmful radiation when nearby.
Prolonged exposure causes health decay and visual distortion.
A distinct Geiger-like clicking sound increases in frequency and intensity based on your exposure level, providing an audible warning of danger.
Any Radiation will be visible on the HUD, even when other stats are hidden.
Certain foods and medications provide temporary resistance or cleansing effects.
Solar radiation is now a problem a player has to deal with, although low could still cause future health problems if not looked after!

Good meals boost stamina and focus; bad ones make you slow, bloated, or question your life choices.
The Apex digestion system doesn’t reward lazy eating habits. Variety keeps your stats stable — repetition does not.
Eating the same food twice in a row forces a 2-minute cooldown before you can benefit from it again.
Overeating identical meals suppresses health regeneration, stamina recovery, and causes bloating.
Rotating between different food types maintains balanced recovery and keeps your bloating and fatigue low.
